Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born on 13 October 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is an United States singer, songwriter as well as an actor. Ashanti became famous as when she was a teen. The year 2002 was when she was signed to Murder Inc. Records.
